How I Thrive: I'm always near some body of water, whether at the beach or swimming laps in the pool. I also like to check out local farmer's markets and have been using these fresh ingredients to test out my culinary skills.
Other: I am originally from Texas so moving out to California for residency has been a fun adventure so far. There is so much to see and do in the area and everyone at Kaiser has been so welcoming. I enjoy traveling locally and abroad, and love live music-- excited to check out local concerts and music festivals!

How I Thrive: I thrive by staying active and playing basketball. I recently got into planting my own herbs and vegetables and try to explore the food culture of cities I visit.
Other: I was born in Iran and moved to the United States when I was two years old. I spent some time away from California for medical school but I am happy and glad to be back home for residency! Outside of medicine, I am a lifelong Los Angeles sports fan including the Lakers and Dodgers.

How I Thrive: I thrive by spending time with my two sweet and spunky baby nieces who are the apple of my eye. I take a lot of joy in the everyday mundane things like cooking or drinking some good tea. I surround myself with friends who like to laugh as much as I do. I try to hold onto memories of inspirational people including those who had positive attitudes and were grateful even when faced with major adversities.
About Me: I am Persian and was born in Israel, and have grown up mostly in Los Angeles. I am happy to continue having Southern California as my home. I love the sunny weather and that there are many diverse and lively pockets to explore. I imagine myself working into my 90's and I look forward to many years of helping people through the field of psychiatry!

How I Thrive: I thrive by staying active and venturing out to new experiences with friends and family. Some of my hobbies include music, photography, and traveling.
Other: I’m one of six children in a first-generation Vietnamese immigrant family and also the first to be in medicine. I feel incredibly fortunate to be where I am today and look to give back to the community that I came from.

How I Thrive: I thrive by always being on the lookout for ways I can improve my overall health, usually through nutrition and physical activity. I like to reassess my diet periodically and add fresh produce to the refrigerator when I can. I enjoy maintaining physical fitness with regular exercise at the local gym every week with a mix of aerobic/strength training. I also spend some time gaming (support main), building model kits, and reading.
About Me: I spent my childhood years growing up in New England. I then became a student at UCONN, the University of Connecticut, which transformed me into a college basketball fan for life. I'm thrilled to now find myself in Southern California and am looking forward to the beautiful weather and the chance to explore the region!

Other: Navy brat growing up and settled in Southern California for the long haul. I'm a professional movie buff and would be a move critic in another life. Always looking for new foodie places to go to and places to travel to. Disneyland annual pass holder with strong knowledge of how to conquer the parks with a limited amount of time. Huge Green Bay Packers fan! Interests in psychiatry include inpatient, consultation-liaison, and child adolescent.

Other: I was born and raised in Redondo Beach and then became a mighty bruin (go UCLA!). For four years I disappeared to Phoenix for medical school and truly learned so much about myself and the importance of my friends, family and supportive faculty. It has been an honor to return back to Southern California to continue enjoying ‘Cali’ activities but most importantly, to promote mental health and people’s wellbeing!

How I Thrive: Friends and family, my two Shih Tzu's included, bring so much happiness into my life and give me strength every day. I teach weekly tone strengthening classes at a local gym, and my class attendees are some of the best motivators out there. Finally my violin instructor and the beauty of the instrument give me inspiration and appreciation for the beauty of the world.
Other: Just a small town girl living in a not-so-lonely world. The friendships and connections I make along my journey are all incredibly precious and important. I hope to help and inspire others as they have for me.

About Me: I was born and raised in Northern California -the Bay Area, specifically. I have jumped around to southern California and even out to Ohio for medical school. I love exposing myself to different traditions and groups of people to learn and understand their culture. For this reason I studied anthropology in college and have been able to greatly appreciate the diverse populations of people we take care of here in the Inland Empire.

Other: I was raised in Southern California and was so happy to match into a residency program close to home. I currently reside in the Inland Empire with my husband and we enjoy visiting the beach, desert, and mountains on the weekends with our family and friends. I am interested in forensic and adult psychiatry, as well as working with Spanish speaking patients. I look forward to practicing in the area upon my graduation from residency.

He is currently on the Regional Wellness committee for Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) and will be a panel speaker in the upcoming annual physician wellness retreat. Physician Burnout is a research subject that he is passion about and presented his research Residency Burnout at last year's American Psychiatric Association annual conference.
