How I Thrive

I thrive on meaningful connections, new experiences, and the joy of lifelong learning. Whether hiking with my partner and dog, exploring new restaurants, or traveling to unfamiliar places, I am always eager to embrace something different. Cooking helps me unwind, caring for my plants keeps me patient, and shopping—well, that’s a work in progress. But above all, I find the most fulfillment in sharing laughter, good food, and memorable moments with family and friends.

How I Thrive

I prioritize self-care through what I call "good house-plant things"—consistent sleep, hydration, exercise, eating leafy greens, etc. My approach to wellbeing centers on pursuing small moments of happiness that brighten everyday life. I find joy in cooking and sharing meals with friends and family, snuggling with my cat, and unwinding in my massage chair with an engaging book. While maintaining these healthy routines, I also embrace my shopping enthusiasm (in moderation). This balance of nurturing my body and mind along with mindful indulgences creates the foundation for my personal happiness and growth.

How I Thrive

I thrive around the people (and cats) I love. Whether it’s rewatching a memorized movie for the tenth time with my family or trying new restaurants with friends, I’m happiest spending time with them. When I’m on my own, I’m usually picking up a new craft—right now it’s air-dry clay—that I enjoy for a couple of months before moving on to the next.

I was born and raised in Oregon and moved to Washington for College and studied psychology. I have spent some time volunteering as a high school teacher in Pohnpei of the Federal States of Micronesia and working with a dolphin assisted therapy program in Florida. After attending medical school in Southern California, I knew I wanted to stay in the area to continue my training through residency and am so excited to be at Kaiser Permanente to learn and grow as a psychiatrist. I love all aspects of psychiatry but have a special place in my heart for the child and adolescent populations and hope to pursue a CAP fellowship after residency.

How I Thrive

I thrive when I am surrounded by people that I love. Whether I’m losing at a board game, getting eaten alive by mosquitoes on a camping trip, getting crushed by my warmup deadlift weight, or burning a recipe I’ve cooked 100 times; I couldn’t be happier as long as I’m doing it with loved ones. I am originally from Colorado and studied at the University of Colorado where I thought I was going to become a pediatrician or a pastor. After college, I spent five years working for a Christian nonprofit, but decided that medicine was how I could best serve others. I excited to train at an organization like Kaiser that emphasizes whole person care

I decided to pursue a career in medicine after undergoing major lung surgeries in high school and college. My KP experience as a patient played a vital role during this formative period of my life, which ultimately fostered a sense of duty to care for each patient’s life as if it were my own. I am thrilled to be part of a physician-led organization that promotes a culture of wellness through meaningful human connection and compassionate care.
