Psychiatry Fontana - Facility

Canyon Ridge Hospital 
Canyon Ridge Hospital is a full-service, 5150 designated psychiatric hospital that operates within a 15-mile radius of Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This facility is a 157-bed psychiatric hospital, 5150 designated, and accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It offers multi-level care for Adolescents [13-17 y/o], Adult, and Geriatric population. Three separate adult units allow treatment programs to vary based on level of acuity and level of functioning.
It provides an opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams including attending psychiatrists, social workers, case management, nursing, medical physicians, medical students, and activities therapists. It offers Residents a diverse training experience with exposure to a wide range of psychiatric illnesses, in addition to chemical dependency. Residents will gain experience in psychopharmacology, group therapy, supportive therapy, family therapy, and patient/family education.

Fontana Medical Center
Residents will rotate for 6 months on their non-psychiatry rotations including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine/Pediatrics, Neurology, Emergency Medicine. They will also rotate on the inpatient medical consultation/liaison and emergency psychiatry for adults, children and adolescents. They will have the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams with MDs in different specialties, MDs in the emergency room, medical and psychiatric social workers, nurses and residents in different specialties. Residents will learn to provide effective, timely consultation to non-psychiatrists and to provide patient-centered, whole-person care to medical ill patients.

San Bernardino, Fontana, Ontario and Montclair Mental Health Offices
There are a variety of outpatient clinics throughout different areas in the Kaiser Fontana region. Each clinic offers Residents a unique experience specific to that catchment area. Residents will get outpatient practice experience through rotations during their PGY3-PGY4 years. It provides an opportunity to get experience in different modalities of therapy. Specialized services are offered in different clinics including TMS, eating disorders program, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, EMDR, among others. Services include individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapy; and crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and adults.

Loma Linda Behavioral Center
Privately nestled in the quiet, historic town of Redlands, California, Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center has been providing exemplary mental health and chemical dependency care for over 20 years. This facility is an 89-bed psychiatric hospital, 5150 designated, and accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It offers multi-level care including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. This opportunity provides Residents’ an experience in inpatient geriatric psychiatry and Electroconvulsive Therapy. Residents will rotate here and work closely with attending psychiatrists in a multi-disciplinary team.

 

 

 

 

 


Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Behavioral Health

Located on the campus of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, the Behavioral Health Center provides psychiatric emergency and inpatient psychiatric treatment services for the assessment and treatment of acute psychiatric emergencies and mental health issues. ARMC operates one of the busiest psychiatric emergency rooms in the Inland Empire and one of the busiest in all of Southern California with approximately 20,000 visits per year. We are the physician of last resort to the underserved population of Riverside, San Bernardino and other counties in the region. Our diverse clientele consists of Hispanic (40%), Caucasian (33%), African American (16%), Asian, and Native American patients among others.

SBC Department of Behavioral Health – County Clinic
Programs provided by the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health along with contracted agencies are committed to developing culturally and linguistically competent services. Mental health services include crisis intervention, assessment/referral, individual/group therapy, medication support, case management, drug/alcohol and psycho-educational workshops. Services are provided for children, youth, adults and older adults.

Department of State Hospital- Patton
The Department of State Hospitals-Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital, with 1527 beds, located in Patton, CA, in San Bernardino County. DSH-Patton was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. Patton State Hospital provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment facility. Patton State Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
