Medical Students

If you’re in medical school in the United States and want to see what Kaiser Permanente Southern California is really like behind the scenes, why not apply for a clinical rotation with us?

You’ll find a wide variety of clerkships and electives at many of our Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers. The rotations available vary at each of our participating medical center, we encourage you to review the table below that includes a list of rotations offered by location; how to apply; and contact information.

How to Apply

Please choose a location below to learn more about how to apply

Most of our rotations only accept applications via the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO). International students can apply for a rotation through the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA international visiting student website.

Rotations are only offered at UCLA-affiliated Kaiser Permanente locations (which include Los Angeles and Woodland Hills only), and students must meet UCLA eligibility requirements for international visiting medical students. For more information please visit: www.medstudent.ucla.edu/visitingstudents

Unfortunately, Kaiser Permanente Southern California is not structured to offer observerships or international medical student rotations.

Oliver Goldsmith, M.D. Scholarship

The Oliver Goldsmith, MD Scholarship for the Promotion and Advancement of Culturally Responsive Care honors second- or third-year medical/osteopathic students who have demonstrated commitment to the advancement of culturally responsive care (CRC) through community service, clinical volunteering, or research. Each awardee will receive $5,000 toward his or her education, participate in a mentoring program with a KP clinician and complete a four-to-six week clinical rotation at a KP facility.  Learn More.
