Goldsmith Scholarship - Application Instructions

Please read the scholarship criteria before completing the online application.

Scholarship Criteria

You can apply for one of ten scholarships if you:

Applicants must:
• Be a third- or fourth-year medical student in good academic standing
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing care that is patient centered culturally and linguistically responsive, or to fostering inclusion through:
• Leadership roles
• Research initiatives
• Community involvement
• Demonstrate efforts to reduce health disparities and promote health equity
• Embrace inclusion in healthcare settings and patient care
• Plan to practice medicine in Southern California
• Be available for a clinical rotation at a Kaiser Permanente Southern California facility starting Fall 2026

Application Timeframe

All documents must be received no later than January 16, 2026.
Candidates selected for final consideration will be invited to interview. Interview dates to be determined.

Scholarship Awards

  • Ten scholarships will be granted in 2026
  • Distribution for all scholarships will be made through the Financial Aid Office of the medical/osteopathic school

Application Instructions

The following items must be provided by January 16, 2026 in order to have a complete application:

  • Complete and submit the online scholarship application
  • Letter from Medical/Osteopathic school stating current academic standing
  • Medical/Osteopathic school transcripts (unofficial will be accepted)
  • Two letters of recommendation (not family related): one from a medical/osteopathic school professor/clinician as well as a support letter from your work in diversity/culturally responsive care activities
