The Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) is a multi-specialty teaching hospital located in Hollywood, California.

We provide training to approximately 300 residents and fellows in 22 programs. The 528-bed medical center is the tertiary referral hospital for three million Kaiser Permanente members. As a major teaching hospital for UCLA, Kaiser Permanente offers an unparalleled diversity of patients spanning from primary care to complex tertiary cases. Our patient population reflects Southern California –39 percent Caucasian, 29 percent Latino, 15 percent African-American, and 14 percent Asian.

LAMC is a referral center for Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, and other tertiary care services provided for the Southern California Region.

There is a large staff of full-time physicians who have academic faculty appointments from the UCLA School of Medicine and 1,700 community-based specialty board certified physicians. As a major teaching hospital for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, second, third and fourth year medical students are assigned to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on a regular basis in the Departments of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology and Surgery.

We encourage resident and fellow participation in a wide range of creative scholarly activities. The scope of research conducted at the Medical Center encompasses the spectrum of disease-related investigation ranging from molecular genetics, biochemical analysis, and comparative animal research to clinical investigation; therapeutic trials and patient care outcomes research. Four hundred projects are in progress involving more than 120 principal investigations and over 300 research employees. Cedars-Sinai scientists publish more than 200 papers a year in peer-reviewed medical journals.
