Southern California Culturally Responsive Care (CRC) Diversity Council
Southern California Culturally Responsive Care (CRC)/Diversity Council The Southern California Culturally Responsive Care (CRC)/Diversity Council provides expertise and guidance to leadership on strategies that are culturally responsive to the needs of the population it serves as an employer, physician of quality care and community leader. Furthermore, the Southern California Culturally Responsive Care (CRC)/Diversity Council seeks to inspire the people of Kaiser Permanente in the Southern California region to embrace the rich diversity of our membership, employees and physicians by promoting, supporting and recognizing excellence in cultural competence to maximize the health of our members and the local communities we serve.
Global Health Program
The Global Health Program seeks to help Kaiser Permanente resident physicians gain a perspective on the special challenges of providing good medical care across cultural boundaries, both at home and abroad.
It aims to bring an increased familiarity and appreciation of the human condition around the world to the Kaiser Permanente community and its future physicians.

Language Concordance Program
In Southern California, Kaiser Permanente serves a diverse population, including many members who speak languages other than English. The Southern California Permanente Medical Group has initiated a “language concordance” program, which matches limited English proficiency patients with physicians who are fluent in those languages.
The program is available in 26 target languages:
- Amharic
- Arabic
- Armenian
- Burmese
- Cambodian
- Cantonese
- Farsi
- French
- Haitian Creole
- Hindi
- Hmong
- Japanese
- Korean
- Mandarin
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Somali
- Spanish
- Tagalog
- Vietnamese
